Well linux supports more hardware than Windows or Mac and has a lot of free and good software for nearly everything (GIMP, Blender, OpenOffice, AbiWord, Qemu, …).
I haven’t seen Windows or Mac on ARM or SPARC architectures and it won’t happen in near future.
And there are lost of games for linux and WINE can run a lot of direct3d games…

Um… Linux has a plethora of Video editing software, spreadsheet capabilities with open office and games??? Linux has like 200+ games for it. o and btw all the software for linux is…. o thats right FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU might have a virus and not even know as well. This is true for any OS (including Mac OS X) so I don’t quite see your point.
What ever happened to Apple’s Quality > Quantity approach? That said, I wouldn’t like to rely on having a minuscule market share in order to have few viruses.

That’s not totally true. You can download viruses on perfectly legitimate sites, such as the New York Times website, which downloaded a virus onto your computer when you clicked on certain links within the website (i.e, articles–not ads.) You might have a virus and you don’t even know. Most hackers use viruses to create botnets. Dead computers are useless to them.

I’ve had the same pc for 4 years. It runs windows. I’ve updated the hardware and it hasnt ever given me any grief. What it comes down to is how much porn you look at. If you don’t, windows is fine.
