Smithipods yes it does. for example if you run 512mb you cant play most games, run advanced effects on ubuntu, use the windows aero theme and more. if you put another ram card in you’ll be able to play most games and run advanced desktop effects

no, your memory is only for temporary storage for programs while your computer is running. all your data is stored on your hard drive itself.

Well, first of all your motherboard has to be compadible with your RAM, say if your getting DDR3 ram, your motherboard must be compadible with that, but of course there is a limit, you can only fit so many RAM’s in your computer, and then it depends on how much memory they got.

i had the same problem.. i was overloading the capacity of the motherboard. too much ram was in.
try lowering the amount thats in there.
