What I do is I pull the keyboard up only about 45 degrees or so (basically the less the better) and hold it with my wrist while changing the memory. Maybe it’s not as comfortable as placing the keyboard on the case, but at least there is a less chance of keyboard failure.
According to earlier posts about maximum memory amount. It depends on whether you have a Pentium II or Pentium III notebook. PII has 32 MB onboard expandable to 544 MB (32+512) and PIII has 64 MB onboard, max 576 MB (64+512).

Yes!! We have to be very careful as the wires are very delicate. If you have any other way of changing RAM then please let us know…..By this we will not toucg tge keyboard. Thanks for the info……….

don’t take out the keyboard like this (I mean putting it upside-down on the case). circuits in the wide tape like to crack (first you’ll have problems with left and down arrows, g, h, pg dn, win key, backspace) and if they do, the keyboard is pretty much useless…

per my knowledge it would be 512 MB max. But that too depends on processor speed..Kindly check with compaq web site.

Me Good Tx. We have to make sure that the RAM is of 100 MHz bus speed (Pentium machin compatible mostly). window will not boot if bus speed is not matching. Tx

You can find the hard drive at the front side. It’s a kind of slot where the hard drive is fitted. Tx
